National football team receive reward for victory over Indonesia
VOV.VN - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has decided to reward members of the national team with a bonus of VND1 billion after recording a resounding 4-0 win over Indonesia on June 7 as part of the second round of regional qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The purpose of the reward is to encourage the entire team to maintain their great determination and continue to put in strong performances in their remaining two fixtures against Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on June 11 and June 15, respectively.
The match against Indonesia was played at the Al-Maktoum stadium in the UAE (UAE) and was a crucial match in the Vietnamese team’s campaign in Group G during the second round of Asian qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Tien Linh, Quang Hai, Cong Phuong, and Van Thanh were the four Vietnamese goal scorers in the 51st, 62nd, 67th, and 74th minutes, respectively.
Through their win, Vietnam maintain top spot in Group G with 14 points, followed by the UAE with 12 points.
Thailand are down in third with nine points, level with Malaysia but above them due to a higher goal difference, whilst Indonesia are bottom with just one point.
