National duathlon champion finishes third at Bangkok tournament

VOV.VN - Vietnamese national duathlon champion Nguyen Thi Thuy Van finished in third place at the ASICS META: Time: Trials Thailand 2024, a 10 km race which was held in Bangkok on September 23.

According to the organizing board, the Vietnamese athlete beat other Southeast Asian rivals to cross the line with a time of 38 minutes 27 seconds 64.

This represents the best achievement ever recorded by Van in a 10 km race, earning her a bonus of US$200.

First and second positions went to Goh Chui Ling and Goh Shing Ling of Singapore, with respective times of 38 minutes 18 seconds 63 milliseconds and 38 minutes 21 seconds 33 milliseconds.

This year, the tournament featured about 40 athletes from Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia.

Organised by ASICS Thailand and RunRio Thailand, the event aims to help runners achieve their personal bests on a flat and fast course.
