National Cup semi-final fixtures to take place behind closed doors
VOV.VN - The semi-finals of the National Cup Bamboo Airways 2020 will take place with no supporters present due to regulations on novel coronavirus (COVID-19) prevention and control, according to the organisers.
Pham Thanh Hung, president of Quang Ninh Coal FC, confirmed that when his side play host to Viettel FC on September 16 the game will be held with no fans in the stadium.
On the same day the Hang Day stadium will be the venue of the other semi-final involving hosts Hanoi FC and Ho Chi Minh City FC, with the match taking place behind closed doors to ensure the safety of both footballers and supporters in the country’s fight against the COVID-19 epidemic.
This comes after the quarter-final tie between Ba Ria-Vung Tau FC and Ho Chi Minh City FC took place with a maximum capacity of 5,000.
The upcoming National Cup semi-final matches on September 16 will mark the return of professional football domestically following a resurgence of COVID-19 in late July.
