Ly Hoang Nam falls to No. 553 in ATP ranking
VOV.VN - Vietnamese tennis player Ly Hoang Nam has fallen two places to No. 553 in the ranking of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), released on July 16.
Nam has not performed to his best recently. He came second in the Vietnam F1 Futures tennis tournament.
Hoang Nam was unable to progress beyond the first round of the men’s singles in the Vietnam F2 and F3 Futures tennis tournaments.
He collected a total of 57 points, higher than the 31 points of Andy Murray who surprisingly fell 690 steps to stand at No. 839 in the ATP ranking. Andy Murray has been injured and spent a period out of competition, which has directly affected his ATP ranking.
The biggest change in the top 10 of the ATP ranking is the reappearance of Novak Djokovic. After taking the win at Wimbledon, the Serbian tennis star jumped up eleven places to stand at No. 10 in the ATP ranking with 3,355 points. He is followed by Dominic Thiem, John Isner and Marin Cilic.
The ATP rankings are updated every Monday. The points of each tennis player are based on their results in tournaments under the system of the ATP, including Grand Slams, ATP World Tour Final, Masters 1000, ATP 500, ATP 250, Team Cup, Challenger Tour and Futures.
