Lua bags Asian wrestling silver

Vietnam's Nguyen Thi Lua won a silver medal at the Asian Wrestling Championships that ended in Thailand on February 21.

Lua, competing in the women's 53kg category, lost to China's Pang Qianyu in the final match.

Her teammates Vu Thi Hang and Kieu Thi Ly finished third in the women's 48kg and 55kg pools, respectively.

The Vietnamese team ranked 12th after five days of competition.


Iran topped the table with nine titles, followed by Kyrgyzstan and China.

The wrestlers will next compete in the continental qualifier tournament that will be held from March 17 to 21 in Astana, Kazakhstan.
