LongBien Marathon raises funds for flood victims in central Vietnam

VOV.VN - Approximately 5,000 runners from 21 countries worldwide participated in the LongBien Marathon 2020 in the Viet Hung urban area of Hanoi on November 1, aiming to raise funds for flood victims in the central region.

A variety of courses over 5 km, 10 km, 21 km, and 42 km, are available for athletes during the one-day race.

The organisers of the Longbien Marathon raise funds of VND110 million, equivalent to US$4,782, in support of flood victims in central Vietnam.

The Longbien Marathon comes up to international standards, while the occasion is certified by the International Association of Athletics Federations/ Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (IAAF/AIMS). Athletes are able to use the race’s results in order to register for major tournaments, including the Boston Marathon.

Nguyen Duc Quang finishes first in the men’s 10 km category.

The winners of the five km category are announced. The Longbien Marathon is the first annual marathon course held in Hanoi with a distance of 42.2 km.
