Long An defeat Thailand in women’s volleyball tournament
VOV.VN -Long An’s volleyball team recorded a 3-2 victory over Thailand’s U23 team in the second round of matches at the ongoing VTV9-Binh Dien International Women's Volleyball Tournament in Rach Gia city in the southern province of Kien Giang.

Despite the early advantage, the Vietnamese volleyballers put on a poor display in the second and third sets, losing out to the Thai team with scores of 23-25, 20-25, respectively.
Long An improved and put on a confident display thanks to an excellent save from substitute Bich Tuyen during the fourth set and began to turn the tables on their Thai opponent to win 25-19.
The team went onto seal the victory over Thailand’s U23 team in the fifth set with a score of 16-14.
In the other Group A match, Vietinbank defeated China’s Nanjing University 3-0.
After two rounds of matches, Long An are top of Group A with five points, followed by Vietinbank on four points. The third and fourth spots went to Thailand’s U23 team with three points and China’s Nanjing University who are on zero points.
In the final round of matches, Long An will take on in a battle for the semi-final place.
In Group B, Lienviet Post Bank are scheduled to play Duc Giang Hanoi at 15:30, while BIP of the United States will play Sichuan of China at 19:00 today.
