Local wrestlers bring home 24 golds from Southeast Asian championship
VOV.VN - The Vietnamese team topped the overall medal table after winning 24 gold medals at the 2025 Southeast Asian (SEA) wrestling championship which closed in Singapore on May 12.

The competition featured events for the classical wrestling and freestyle wrestling for both boys and girls in the U17 age group.
Vietnam sent 30 wrestlers to the championship and came first in various weight categories.
Sisters Nguyen Thi My Linh in the girls’ 53kg, Nguyen Thi My Trang in the girls’ 57kg, and Nguyen Thi My Hanh in the girls’ 62kg all bagged gold medals.
In addition, 11 young talents who competed in the tournament for the first time brought home gold medals.
The tournament provides a chance for the athletes to fully prepare for the coming 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games which will be held in Thailand from December 9 to 20, as well as the 20th Asian Cup (ASIAD) slated for September 19 to October 4, 2026, in Japan.
