VOV.VN - The nation’s leading tennis player Ly Hoang Nam triumphed in the ITF Men’s World Tennis Tour M15 Tay Ninh professional tournament (Week 2) - Hai Dang Cup - in the finals of the men’s singles on June 12.
During the first set against Domink Palan of the Czech Republic, 637th in the ATP ranking, Nam put on an excellent display and was able to easily defeat his opponent with a score of 7-3. In the second set, the Vietnamese player took a lead of 6-3 despite an impressive rally by Palan.
Nam, 477th in the ATP ranking, made use of all of his experience to make several strong strokes to decisively win the final game with a score of 2-0.
Following the championship win, the Vietnamese tennis player accumulated a further 15 points in the ATP ranking and is expected to return to the top 400 in the upcoming announcement.
Moving forward, Nam will continue to compete at the Tay Ninh M15 professional tournament Week 3, which is scheduled to run until June 19.
