Liem, Khoi remain undefeated at Dubai Open

VOV.VN -Vietnamese chess players Le Quan Liem and Nguyen Anh Khoi have maintained their undefeated streak at the Dubai Open in the UAE after four matches played.

During his fourth match of the tournament, Le Quang Liem (Elo rating 2711) was able to beat Vishnu Prasanna of India (Elo rating 2515).


The match took place early in the morning on April 5 and saw Liem use his advantage of holding the white pawn to record a victory after 47 moves.

Liem has so far earned 3.5 points after three wins and one draw, 0.5 points lower than the two other leading chess players competing at the tournament.

The Vietnamese super grandmaster will still have the opportunity to win the competition outright and increase his Elo points if he wins his next matches.

Elsewhere at the Dubai Open, Nguyen Anh Khoi (Elo rating 2481) recorded a victory over Seyed KIan of Iran (Elo rating 2260).

With three points from four matches, the 17-year old chess player will face his biggest test of the competition he faces off against Indian grandmaster Aravindh Chithambaram (Elo rating 2602) in the fifth match.
