Liem declines World Chess invite
Le Quang Liem refused an invitation to the World rapid and blitz chess championships, which will take place in Berlin, Germany from October 9-15.
"The world rapid and blitz chess championships run simultaneously with the Millionaire chess open in America, I could only participate in one of them", Liem said.
"I registered to attend the Millionaire Chess Open months ago, while I only recently found out about the time and venue for the rapid and blitz chess championships."
"The Millionaire Chess Open will allow me to develop my skills further, as the standard of chess will be higher than the rapid and blitz chess. Also, the Millionaire Chess Open takes place in the US, where I am living and studying, so it will be more convenient for me," he added.
