Large number of runners join in Halong Bay Heritage Marathon

VOV.VN - Over 3,000 runners, including 1,600 foreigners, recently participated in the Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2019 which took place in Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO recognized World Natural Heritage Site, in the northern province of Quang Ninh. 

This year’s marathon is the fifth event of its kind and represents one of the largest international marathons to be held in Vietnam.
 
The competition offers a range of routes for athletes to compete in, ranging from five km to 42km, including a track suitable for children.
Each of the routes on offer start and finish at the Quang Ninh Exhibition of Planning and Expo Center.
Whilst taking part, participants have the chance to enjoy some of the spectacular views of the bay, in addition to the nearby picturesque mountains and coast lines.
 
 
 
 
Competitors running in the 21km and 42km routes aim to complete the course in approximately two hours.
 
 
Two runners, Ngoc Anh and Tra My, compete whilst wearing the traditional outfits of Bac Ninh province on the 21-km route.
A total of VND600 million was on offer in prize money for competitors.
A couple from India share a moment of happiness at the finish line.
