Lamdong Trail 2026 kicks off in Da Lat with over 5,600 runners
VOV.VN - The Lamdong Trail 2026 officially opened in Da Lat city on the morning of November 6, attracting more than 5,600 runners from 35 countries and territories.
The trail running event features five distances, 5km, 15km, 25km, 55km, and 85km, with competitors on the longest routes starting late on November 6 and early on November 7.
The course guides runners through pine forests, pink grass hills, streams, and steep slopes characteristic of the Da Lat plateau. Notably, the 55km and 85km routes take participants through the forest to Tam Tham (Hidden) Waterfall in Lac Duong District, bordering Da Lat.
The tournament aims to promote local landscapes and culture to domestic and foreign visitors, particularly runners from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Nepal, while encouraging sports tourism and local economic development.
Huynh Ngoc Tam, Deputy Director of the Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said at the opening ceremony that the race connects participants with local nature and culture, enhancing the destination's appeal and generating economic value for the community.
Scheduled through November 8, the event has its start and finish lines at Love Valley (Thung Lung Tinh Yeu) in Da Lat.
Organizers have set up checkpoints, medical support, rescue teams, and course marshals along the routes. Safety signs and trail checks have been prepared in advance, with organizers advising runners to carry mandatory gear, water, and nutrition, and to strictly adhere to cutoff times for safety.
