Gia Lai City Trail attracts 3,500 local, foreign runners

VOV.VN - Gia Lai City Trail 2026, a race in the Central Highlands, is expected to draw 3,500 Vietnamese and international runners to routes passing through scenic landscapes and landmarks in Gia Lai province from October 30 to November 1.

The event will be organised by the Gia Lai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with VietRace365 Joint Stock Company, with participants competing over distances of 6km, 12km, 30km, 50km and 70km.

Ho Chi Minh City has the largest contingent, with more than 814 runners, followed by Dak Lak with 119, Quang Ngai with 90, Da Nang with 66 and Hanoi with 45. The race will also feature 34 international runners from Japan, China, Taiwan, the United States, Belgium, Germany and France.

The routes take runners through a range of natural and cultural attractions in Bien Ho commune, including Bien Ho Forest Park, a century-old pine avenue, Bien Ho tea hills, Buu Minh Pagoda, Chu Dang Ya volcano, coffee fields, the old H’Bau Church, Chu Nam Mountain and the Ngo Son rice field.

In particular, the 70 km distance will be particularly demanding, taking runners across eight mountains and requiring strong physical fitness, endurance and determination to complete the course safely.

This year’s Gia Lai City Trail is part of the series of events for the 2026 National Tourism Year in Gia Lai. During this period, various cultural and tourism activities will also take place in Pleiku ward and its surrounding communes and wards.

They are expected to bring a rich experience for athletes and visitors alike, while helping to promote the natural landscapes, cultural identity, and people of Gia Lai.
