Korean referee to take charge of first leg of AFF Cup 2022 final

VOV.VN - Referee Ko Hyung-jin of the Republic of Korea will officiate the upcoming clash between Vietnam and Thailand in the first leg of the final of the AFF Cup 2022, with the fixture set to take place on January 13.

The 40-year-old Korean referee has refereed at a number of important championships, including games at the AFC Champions League, the 2019 Asian Cup, and qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Previously, the Korean official had also been in charge of Vietnam’s 4-0 defeat against in the third qualifying round of the Asian region for the 2022 World Cup. He also refereed a clash between Nam Dinh and Sai Gon FCs in the V.League 1 2022 season.

Vietnam are set to play the first leg of the final of the AFF Cup 2022 at home turf at the My Dinh National Stadium at 7:30 p.m. on January 13.

Following the first leg of the final, the national team will then compete in the second leg away at the Thammasat Stadium in Thailand at 7:30 p.m. on January 16.

Ko Hyung-jin will be joined by assistant referees Park Kyun-yong and Kang Dong-ho, all of whom are Korean nationals.

The fourth official will be Thoriq Munir Alkatiri of Indonesia.
