ITF U18-J30 Becamex Cup attracts 100 local, foreign players
VOV.VN - The International Tennis Federation (ITF) U18-J30 Becamex Cup opened at the Binh Duong New City Community Sports Centre on April 13, drawing the participation of more than 100 local and foreign players.
The 2026 tournament that features men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, and women's doubles is held in two consecutive stages, with the first running from April 12 to 18, and the second from April 19 to 25.
The event brings together over 100 young tennis players from different countries and territories worldwide such as the United States, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, and Vietnam, creating a high-quality international competitive arena.
Some Vietnamese outstanding faces including Nguyen Nam and Le Phu Gia of Ho Chi Minh City, Le Tien Anh of the military unit, Phan Binh Bao Quan of Becamex will compete with international athletes ranked between 600-700 on the ITF Juniors rankings.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Nguyen Hong Son, vice president and general secretary of the Vietnam Tennis Federation (VTF) believed that each athlete not only carries the desire to win, but also shows a passion for tennis.
The ITF U18-J30 Becamex Cup provides a good chance for young tennis players to accumulate international points, gradually approaching the path to professional competition. The tournament also helps to contribute to raising the position of Vietnamese tennis on the regional and world sports map.
The tournament aims to celebrate the Hung Kings Commemoration Day which falls on the 10th day of the third lunar month, Southern Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30), and International Workers’ Day (May 1).
