Huynh Nhu trains hard to begin new season with Lank FC
VOV.VN - National team captain Huynh Nhu is training hard as preparations begin for her new season with Lank FC after agreeing to extend her contract for an additional year.
Details of the deal have not been revealed, but it is reported that the Vietnamese player's salary will see an increase compared to her current figure of EUR1,500 per month.
The first match of the new season will be held on September 17 against Sporting Lisbon, with the Portuguese side setting a target of narrowing their gap with the leading group of teams which features powerhouses Braga and Benfica.
As a result, Nhu might not join the Vietnamese national team for the 19th Asian Games in China. According to the schedule, Vietnam will play Nepal on September 22.
Nhu, 32, played for the first team of Ho Chi Minh City I when she was 17 years old, going on to win seven national championships. She is currently the captain of the Vietnam national women's team and won four SEA Games gold medals along with qualifying for the 2023 Women's World Cup.
She became the first Vietnamese female player to play football in Europe when she signed a contract with Lank in August, 2022. Last season saw her score seven goals for the Portuguese side. Nhu was allowed by the club to return to play at the SEA Games 32 last May, during which she won a gold medal.
