Huu Hieu wins 2025 IFMA Senior World Championships
VOV.VN - Female Vietnamese fighter Huynh Ha Huu Hieu defended her title by taking gold at the Muaythai 2025 Senior World Championships of the International Federation of Amateur Muaythai (IFMA) held recently in Antalya, Turkey.

Competing in the under-45kg weight category class, Huu Hieu delivered a stunning performance in the final on June 1, knocking out Gamze Korkmaz of the host country to claim the gold medal.
She earlier beat Fereshteh Hassan Zadeh of Iran in the quarterfinals on May 27 and Elizaveta Zavarzina of Russia in the semifinals on May 30.
This latest triumph marks Huu Hieu’s fourth world championship title, adding to her previous victories in 2019, 2021, and 2024.
The athlete also bagged a gold medal from the 2013 World Youth Championship, another gold from the 2022 World Grand Slam, a silver at the 31st SEA Games, and a gold at the 32nd SEA Games.
The win comes after Hieu’s teammates earned their first gold medal through their performance in the U23 Mai Muay event.
The team also earned four silver medals through the impressive performances by Nguyen Thi Chieu and Dinh Thi Hoa in the U23 women's Mai Muay, Nguyen Hoang Son in the U23 men’s Wai Kru, and Pham Thi Bich Lieu in the women's Wai Kru.
With a total haul of four golds, six silvers, and four bronzes, Vietnam secured fifth place overall in the tournament.
