Hung Kings Volleyball Cup 2021 gets underway in Phu Tho

VOV.VN - Viet Tri city in the northern province of Phu Tho hosted the start of the Hung Kings Volleyball Cup 2021 on April 18 to mark the occasion of commemorating the death anniversary of the Hung Kings, the country’s legendary founders.

The tournament features the participation of 140 volleyball players from across the country who are set to compete in both the male and female categories.

Immediately following the conclusion of the opening ceremony, VTV Binh Dien Long An club won a ticket to progress to the final round in the women’s category after recording a convincing 3-0 win over Information-Communications Command–FLC club.

The Hung Kings Volleyball Cup is organized by the Vietnam Volleyball Federation and has been held annually in Phu Tho province since 2004.

Furthermore, the competition is also an important part of the national volleyball system which aims to discover talents capable of representing the Vietnamese at future international tournaments, including the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games which will be held in Vietnam later this year.

The tournament is scheduled to last until April 21.
