HAGL FC to repatriate Paollo Olivera’s body to Lisbon home

VOV.VN - Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) football club has been authorized to bring the dead body of striker Paollo Olivera who was killed together with two other Vietnamese people in a tragic car accident several days ago back to his home in Lisbon, Portugal, for the funeral service.

Due to her health problems, the mother of Paollo Olivera is now in hospital for treatment and she cannot come to Vietnam to bring her son’s body home, said a representative of HAGL FC on August 14.

She has authorized HAGL Group and HAGL FC to complete procedures to repatriate the striker’s body to Lisbon for the funeral service, added the representative.

HAGL has received Paollo’s death certificate and is in the process of bringing the player’s body back to Portugal.

Currently, Olivera’s body is being laid in the coffin placed at the funeral home of HAGL University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Pleiku city of Gia Lai province for fans and people to come and pay their last respect to the striker.

Born in 1996, Paolo Olivera bears Brazilian nationality, but his career is closely linked to Portuguese football. Portugal is also the country where his family lives.

Olivera was one of the three members of HAGL FC killed in a car accident in Gia Lai, a locality in the Central Highlands, on August 12. The driver of the car survived the accident but suffered serious injuries.
