Golf tournament raises funds for charity projects
VOV.VN - As many as 144 golfers began a tournament called I Love Vietnam at Royal Long An Golf and Villas in the southern province of Long An on September 9 to raise funds for charity projects in Vietnam.
The professional and amateur golfers are divided into three different groups according to official handicap, and are scheduled to compete in an 18-hole handicap direct stroke format.
The golfers will have the chance to win prizes worth VND4.6 billion in total. The organizing board will present the tournament’s Cup worth VND100 million and many prizes to excellent golfers, along with technical awards, including Best Gross; Best Net; First and Second Group Winners; Longest Drive for men and women; Nearest to the Pin; and Nearest to the Line.
On this occasion, Volvo auto maker will present a VolvoXC60 to H3 hole-in-one winner and a Volvo S90 to H15 hole-in-one winner.
The tournament is annually organized by Nguoi Lao Dong (Labourer) newspaper and Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank. The proceeds will be donated to the National Flag programme and the Scholarship programme for poor and ethnic students.
