Fourteen clubs to compete in the National Football Second League

VOV.VN - Fourteen football clubs have been confirmed as competitors in the Vietnamese National Football Second League for the 2019 season, according to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) at a press conference held in Hanoi on April 11.

Among them are 10 teams who competed in last seasons version of the competition. They are: Nam Dinh, Kon Tum, Lam Dong, Fishsan Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan, Ba Ria Vung Tau, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Long An, and Vinh Long.

Three clubs including Youth Hanoi, Gia Dinh, and Youth SHB Danang will take part in the league for the first time.

Cong An Nhan Dan FC have dropped down from the National Football First League and will this year take part in the league for the upcoming season.

The VFF have announced that in the qualifying round, each team will play in two-legged ties.

The first leg will be held from May 11 to June 10, and the second leg will take place from July 10 to August 9.

In the final round, four teams will take part in two matches. The leaders of Group A will play the second placed team in Group B, whilst the leaders of Group B will face the second placed team in Group A.

The final round of fixtures is set to take place between August 16 and 19.

The winning team will earn promotion to the National Football First League for the 2020 season.
