Football: Vietnam held to goalless home draw by Kyrgyzstan

Vietnamese could not make home ground advantage count as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Kyrgyzstan at the Group I of the AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2025 Qualifiers held in the northern province of Phu Tho on October 23.

The Vietnamese side tried to put pressure on their opponents but spurned chances to break the duck.

With the draw, each team got one point.

Group I features four squads of Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Yemen, and Vietnam, playing from October 23 to 27 at Viet Tri Stadium.

Vietnam will play Myanmar on October 25 and Yemen on October 27.

Following Lebanon’s withdrawal since the draw in June, 42 teams from cross Asia have been split into 10 groups, six of four, one of three, and three of five, to battle in a centralised league format which runs until October 27 to secure a spot in at AFC U17 Asian Cup next year.
