Football tournament marks Vietnam – Australia diplomatic ties
VOV.VN - A Vietnam-Australia friendship football tournament took place in Hanoi on November 28, marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
In his opening speech, Tran The Cuong, president of the Vietnam-Australia Friendship Association’s Hanoi chapter, confirmed that the annual event aimed to further intensify the friendship and mutual understanding that exists between people of the two countries.
The tournament saw four teams competing, with matches drawing plenty of spectators immediately after the opening ceremony.
After putting on an outstanding display in their games, the Vietnam-Australia School team won first prize.
Second prize went to a team from the Australian Embassy in Vietnam, whilst a team from Hanoi’s Nam Tu Liem district came third.
