First-ever Japanese Shogi competition held in Da Nang

VOV.VN - The First Japanese Shogi Chess competition was held on June 5 at Da Nang Mikazuki Hotel, attracting the participation of famous players Sota Fujii and Daichi Sasaki.

The competition was held as part of activities in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.

Shogi, also known as Japanese Chess, is an intellectually stimulating game that boasts a long-standing tradition. In recent years, Shogi has gained plenty of attention among young people thanks to Japanese player Sota Fujii who set a record as the youngest player to achieve the rank of nine-dan, the highest professional level.

This year, visitors who are interested in Japanese culture have the chance to learn more about the mind game and hold exchanges with top Shogi players.
