The Filippo billiards player eventually beat Ko Pin Yi with a score of 13-7, claiming his first Major title.

This year, Vietnam sent eight leading players to compete in the Hanoi Open Pool Championship, including Duong Quoc Hoang, Nguyen Dang Tuyen, and Do The Kien, but none of them made it into the round of 16.
The tournament attracted the participation of 128 players at the top of the world rankings (top ranking World Nineball Tour), with 64 slots given to international and Vietnamese players registering through the portal of the Organising Committee and the remaining 64 slots offered to players who got through the qualifying round held at HSG Billiards Club in late September and early October.
