FIFA Futsal men’s rankings: Vietnam break into world top 20

VOV.VN - Vietnam’s men’s futsal team have climbed to 20th place in the latest FIFA world rankings, marking the highest position in the team’s history, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said.

The team moved up six places following a strong run of results under head coach Diego Giustozzi, including a winning streak in the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup qualifiers held in September.

Vietnam now rank fourth in Asia, behind Iran (fifth globally), Thailand (11th) and Japan (13th).

Globally, Brazil maintained their top position, followed by Spain and Portugal, coming second and third, respectively.

FIFA statistics showed that a total of 230 international men's futsal matches have been held since the last ranking, including the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship and the European Futsal Championship qualifiers.

Apart from Vietnam, several other teams made significant progress in their rankings, including the Republic of Korea, Montenegro, Mozambique, Denmark, and Malaysia.

In the women's futsal rankings, the Vietnamese women's futsal team remained their 11th position in the world and 5th in Asia. Over the past time, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang's team did not play any international matches that counted towards the ranking points.
