Fencers claim four golds at Southeast Asian championships

VOV.VN - Vietnamese fencers won four gold, two silver, and three bronze medals at the 2025 Southeast Asian Fencing Federation (SEAFF) Cadet and Junior Championships, which wrapped up on July 24 in Malaysia.

On the final day of competition, Tran Ngoc Phat secured a gold medal for the junior team after defeating Singapore’s Lee Benjamin Shijie in the men’s individual epee.

Vietnam reached five of the 12 junior finals, claiming three more golds in the women’s individual epee and both the men’s and women’s epee team events.

The four-day tournament provided a valuable opportunity for regional athletes to gain experience and sharpen their skills ahead of major international competitions, particularly the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) set to take place in Thailand later this year.
