Dao Thien Hai Chess Open to start in HCM City

Young participants will compete in groups aged from 6-11, and have a chance to meet national champion Nguyen Anh Khoi, 16, who helped Vietnam’s men’s team rank seventh out of 185 teams at the recent Batumi Chess Olympiad in Georgia.

Participants will also have a chance to compete with veterans Le Minh Hoang, Nguyen Quoc Hy, Le Huu Thai and Nguyen Thi Mai Hung.

The event is a warm-up for Vietnam to compete at the World Age Group Chess Championship in Spain later this year.
