Da Nang set to host international women’s tennis tournament
VOV.VN - The central city of Da Nang will play host to Tiny’s Tennis Open international tournament which will take place from January 22 to January 28 next year.
The tournament has been organised by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) since 2012 and is one part of the WTA 125 tournament system which is an international series of professional women's tennis tournaments.
Players who put in a successful performance in the WTA 125 earn sufficient ranking points to become eligible for the main draw or qualifying draw entry of future WTA Tour tournaments.
During Tiny’s Tennis Open international tournament, players will compete in women's doubles and women's singles categories at Tuyen Son Sports Village in Da Nang City in early 2024.
The tournament is scheduled to attract a total of 32 female tennis players from 14 countries around the world.
The competition is expected to bring plenty of excitement to audiences, according to the organisers WTA at a press conference held in Da Nang on August 10.
This marks the first time that an international women's tennis tournament will take place in Da Nang, with the event aiming to provide chances for local athletes to gain more experience from foreign friends whilst promoting the development of the sports movement in the locality.
