Coach Park Hang-seo names Vietnam squad for AFF Cup 2020
VOV.VN - Vietnam head coach Park Hang-seo has announced a 30-man squad ahead of the upcoming AFF Cup 2020.
Most notably, midfielder Do Hung Dung was added to the list after recovering from a serious injury which had caused him to miss the recent World Cup qualifiers.
However, the Korean coach also removed five players from the official list, including Ly Cong Hoang Anh, Ho Thanh Minh, Le Van Do, Pham Van Cuong, and Pham Tuan Hai.
The squad also features many popular names from previous senior national and U23 teams. According to the schedule, the largest Southeast Asian football tournament will be held from December 5 to January 1, 2022, in Singapore.
Vietnam will go into the competition as the defending champions and will play in Group B alongside Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, and Laos.
Elsewhere, Group A consists of Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, and the winner of the play-off match between Timor-Leste and Brunei.

Defenders (13): Do Duy Manh, Tran Dinh Trong, Nguyen Thanh Chung, Bui Hoang Viet Anh, Le Van Xuan, Vu Van Thanh, Nguyen Phong Hong Duy, Que Ngoc Hai, Bui Tien Dung, Nguyen Thanh Binh, Pham Xuan Manh, Ho Tan Tai, Do Thanh Thinh.
