Goalkeeper Luu Thanh Bao (Saigon Titans), Nguyen Tien Hung, Nguyen Hoang Quang (Thai Son Nam HCM City), An Lam Toi (Thai Son Bac) and Ngo Ngoc Son (Sahako FC) were the five cut from the roster.

In comparison to SEA Games 33, the Vietnamese futsal team participating in the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup welcomes the return of the reigning Golden Ball winner Chau Doan Phat and veteran Tran Thai Huy. Previously, due to injuries, this duo could not participate in the race for medals at SEA Games 33.

The Vietnamese futsal team will fly to Jakarta at 10:30 a.m. on January 24. Coach Diego Giustozzi's team are in Group B at the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup, playing against Kuwait on January 27, Lebanon on January 29, and Thailand on January 31.
