Despite being previously scheduled to take place at the Bung Karno Stadium, the PSSI have stated that the protest situation in Jakarta will affect security for the match.
According to a statement made by the Vietnam Football Federation, the venue change will now force them to reschedule all of the team’s planned preparation for the World Cup qualifier.
The Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium is located in the city of Gianyar and has a capacity of 18,000. The new venue is much smaller than the Bung Karno Stadium which can hold a maximum of 100,000 supporters.
The match between Vietnam and Indonesia is set for October 15. So far in their World Cup qualification campaign, Indonesia have suffered a 3-2 defeat to Malaysia and a 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Thailand, leaving them bottom of Group G.
