CJ Vietnam Open 2025 kicks off in HCM City
VOV.VN - CJ Vietnam Open 2025, an international G1-level Taekwondo tournament, officially opened at Go Vap Sports & Cultural Centre, Ho Chi Minh City, on June 27.

This marks the first ever G1 international Taekwondo event hosted by Vietnam, offering valuable Olympic ranking points toward Los Angeles 2028.
The event, running through June 28, features over 100 athletes from more than 10 countries and territories competing across all standard weight classes.
It follows the conclusion of the National Youth Taekwondo Championship – CJ 2025, held from June 21–25 with more than 1,000 participants across four youth age groups.
Organised by the Vietnam Taekwondo Federation (VTF) and co-sponsored by Korea’s CJ Group, which formalised a strategic partnership on June 19, the tournament uses modern standards including electronic protectors and video replay, reinforcing Vietnam’s professional and international integration in the sport.
VTF Vice President and Secretary General Nguyen Thanh Huy noted the event's high technical standards and its critical role in helping Vietnamese taekwondo athletes gain international experience and Olympic-level ranking points.
The CJ Vietnam Open opens a new chapter for Vietnamese Taekwondo by boosting athletic development, international competitiveness, and national pride as the sport prepares for the coming SEA Games 33 and Olympic qualification, said Huy.
