Chien wins world title for third time

VOV.VN - Vietnam's leading billiards player Tran Quyet Chien successfully became the champion of the Three-Cushion World Cup 2024, which took place on March 4 in Bogota in Colombia.

In the finals, Chien faced off against Sameh Sidhom of Egypt who had previously been beaten by him in the final match of the world cup tournament in Portugal last year.

After facing several challenges posed by the Egyptian opponent in the opening minutes of the match, he swiftly displayed his talent by holding to a 43-43 draw.

Chien remained in good form to win the game with a final score of 50-44.

This marks the third time that the Vietnamese player has secured the Three-Cushion World Cup. He won two previous world titles back in 2018 and 2023.

Currently, he is standing second place in the latest world rankings of the Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB).
