Champion of international U19 football tournament to be awarded US$10,000

VOV.VN - The winning team of the international U19 tournament is set to receive a cash prize of US$10,000, the organisers said at a press conference held on August 4 in the southern province of Binh Duong.

As well as prize money for the winners, the second and third-placed teams will be given sums of US$6,000 and US$4,000, respectively. In addition, the best footballer, the top goal scorer, the best goalkeeper, and the best referee will also be given US$500 each.

The international football tournament is set to get underway at Go Dau Stadium in Binh Duong province from August 5 to August 11, with all matches being free for spectators.

As the hosts, Vietnam will play strong regional rivals from Thailand, Myanmar, and Malaysia.

They will compete in a round-robin format, with the best two teams progressing through to the final round. The third and fourth-placed teams will compete for a bronze medal.

The Vietnamese U19 team is led by head coach Dinh The Nam and hope to sharpen skills through participation in the tournament and prepare well for the qualifiers for the 2023 AFC U20 Asian Cup.

The tournament will be broadcast live on FPT Play and the fan page of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

The event was first held in Binh Duong province back in 2018, with this year marking the fourth edition of the competition.
