Binh Duong Television Cycling Tournament to kick off

The event is co-organised by the Vietnam Cycling and Motor Sport Federation, Binh Duong Television & Radio Station, and Hoa Sen Group.

At the press conference in Ho Chi Minh City on May 8, the organising board said this year’s tournament will consist of 7 stages covering a near 800km long course which starts in Binh Dinh, before passing through a number of other provinces and ending in Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong province.

The event has attracted the participation of a number of strong domestic cycling teams, including Hat Ngoc Troi, Domesco Dong Thap, Military zone 7, An Giang Plant Protection, Ho Chi Minh City, and VUS-HCM City.

The race has a total cash prize of nearly VND400 million, with the yellow jersey winner receiving VND60 million.

During the race, at stops throughout the country, the organising board will join with Hoa Sen Group and Hat Ngoc Troi Group to present 8 tonnes of rice and 80 bicycles to families in need and poor students with good academic records..

According to Deputy Chairman of the Vietnam Cycling and Motor Sport Federation Ngo Quang Vinh, the tournament is a warm-up for Vietnamese athletes as they make preparations for the upcoming ASIAD 18.
