Barefoot runners to celebrate Clipper yacht race

Nearly 6,000 local and foreign runners will race in the second Da Nang Barefoot Run 2015-16 across central city's My Khe Beach on February 21.

The event's organising committee said that the event celebrates athletes from the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race that the city hosts as a home port of the Da Nang-Vietnam team from February 17-21.
According to event organiser, Pearl Beach Media, runners will race barefoot in 10km, 5km and 2km categories with many gifts and prizes for the winners.
Participants can register at www.http://danangbarefootrun.com, with a fee of 50,000 VND (2.2) each, or VND30,000 (US$1.3) each for a group of 10.
According to organisers, series activities including a sandcastle building competition, mini games and DJ performances will be staged on the beach from 2pm to midnight.
Last December, nearly 5,000 runners raced in the first Barefoot Run on My Khe Beach.
