Bamboo Airways sponsors National Cup 2021 for third consecutive year

VOV.VN - Domestic budget airline Bamboo Airways has been announced as the main sponsor of the National Football Cup 2021 after signing a one-year sponsorship deal in Hanoi on March 10.

This marks the third consecutive year that the local airline has worked in collaboration with the Vietnam Professional Football Company (VPF) in order to put on the national football tournament.

Nguyen Minh Ngoc, VPF general director, said that co-operation between both sides will ultimately contribute to increasing the overall quality of the tournament whilst also spreading a message about fair play among the community.

The qualifying round for the National Cup 2021 is set to get underway on April 9 and will feature 22 teams from both the V. League 1 and V. League 2.

Four leading teams of the National Cup 2020, namely Than Quang Ninh FC, Ho Chi Minh City FC, Viettel FC, and Hanoi FC, alongside Nam Dinh FC, will directly enter the quarterfinals.

The winners will receive a cash prize of VND1 billion, equivalent to US$43,000, and earn a place at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup 2022.

The first and second runners-up will take home VND500 million and VND200 million, respectively.
