Athletes secure 4 golds for Vietnam at 2026 Asian Rowing Cup
VOV.VN - Vietnamese rowers took total four gold, five silver and three bronze medals at the 2026 Asian Rowing Cup which was wrapped up in the Republic of Korea (RoK) on April 26.
The gold medals came in the women’s quadruple sculls, women’s coxless pair and women’s double sculls.
Notably, the quartet - H-July Bya, Le Thi Kim Truc, Ha Ngoc Linh Nhi and Pham Thuy My - claimed victory in the women’s quadruple sculls. Their teammates grabbed one gold medal in the women’s coxless pair and two gold medals in the women’s double sculls.
Vietnam also earned five silver medals across several categories, including the men’s and women’s double sculls, women’s quadruple sculls, men’s quadruple sculls and women’s coxless pair.
The 2026 Asian Rowing Cup brought together top rowers from across Asia, with many teams using it as preparation for the coming 20th Asian Games (ASIAD 20). According to the Vietnamese coaching board, the competition featured strong line-ups from leading rowing nations, requiring athletes to compete with their utmost effort.
Vietnam fielded 31 athletes at this year’s Asian Rowing Cup.
