Vietnamese rowers gear up for Asian Rowing Cup 2026 in RoK

VOV.VN - Vietnamese rowers of the national team have arrived in the Republic of Korea to prepare for the Asian Rowing Cup 2026, scheduled to take place in Chungju from April 24 to 26.

This year’s tournament brings together 15 teams from across Asia, competing in events such as single sculls, double sculls, and quadruple sculls.

Vietnamese rowers are set to compete in 13 out of 14 disciplines at the tournament, aiming to secure podium finishes against strong regional rivals.

Prior to their departure, the team underwent intensive training under a comprehensive programme designed by the coaching staff. This marks Vietnam’s first international competition in 2026 following their participation in the SEA Games 33.

The Asian Rowing Cup 2026 is set to attract top rowers from China, Hong Kong (China), Uzbekistan, and India. The competition will provide valuable exposure for Vietnamese rowers as they build towards the Asian Games 2026 (ASIAD 20).

Notably, Japan that plays host to ASIAD 20 this September will not participate in this year’s tournament.
