Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship heads to Vietnam for first time in 2027

The 18th edition of the regional amateur tournament is scheduled for October 28-31, 2027. Following the Vietnam event, the 2028 championship will take place at New South Wales Golf Club in Sydney, Australia, from November 2-5, 2028, marking the third time the tournament visits Australia following previous editions at Royal Melbourne Golf Club in 2014 and 2023.

On behalf of the founding organizations, Mark Darbon, Chief Executive of The R&A, stated that organizers look forward to bringing the tournament to Vietnam for the first time and highlighting one of the emerging destinations in global golf.

Established in 2009, APAC features top amateur players representing 43 member organizations of the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation. The champion earns invitations to compete in two prestigious majors: The Masters at Augusta National and The Open. Players who have competed in APAC have accumulated 34 PGA Tour titles and over 180 professional victories worldwide.

Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Hoiana Shores Golf Club opened in 2019 and was named the "World's Best New Golf Course" at the 2020 World Golf Awards. The venue previously hosted the Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific Championship in 2025.

The 17th edition of the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship is currently underway at Te Arai Links in New Zealand, providing a platform for top regional amateur talent to advance toward international professional tournaments.
