Annual boat race held in Phu Tho as part of Hung Kings Festival

VOV.VN - A boat racing festival was held on Lo river in Viet Tri city in the northern province of Phu Tho on April 13 as part of the celebrations for the Hung Kings Temple Festival 2019.

The boat race is held to commemorate the death anniversary of the Hung Kings.

In total six teams from Phuong Lau, Trung Vuong, Song Lo, Duu Lau, Bach Hac, and Viet Xuan communes in the Viet Tri and Vinh Tuong districts of Phu Tho province compete in the race.

All of the competition’s participants show their high levels of determination in winning the prizes on offer.

Thousands of local people gathered together with tourists on the banks of the Lo river to witness the race.

Throughout the event, spectators gave great support to the racers.

The boat race is one of the many activities being held as part of the Hung Kings Temple Festival 2019.

The commemoration of the Hung Kings has been preserved and has passed from one generation to another. Each year, the death anniversary of the Hung Kings is remembered with full respect.

The team representing Viet Xuan commune won the first prize whilst the teams from Trung Vuong and Phuong Lau communes were awarded the second and third prizes.
