Amateur pickleball players shine at PPA Tour Asia Malaysia Cup
VOV.VN - Vietnamese duo Ly Minh Triet and Tony Hoang claimed the U50 men’s doubles amateur title at the recent PPA Tour Asia Malaysia Cup in Kuala Lumpur.
In the amateur category final, they defeated Singapore’s Jih Shian Yeo and Wei Pin Choo 15‑6 to secure the championship. Following the victory, Ly Minh Triet returned to Vietnam to prepare for the PPA Tour Asia Vietnam Cup in Da Nang.
Former tennis player Ly Hoang Nam also impressed, finishing third in the men’s singles event. Meanwhile, Phuc Huynh and Trinh Linh Giang bowed out in the quarter-finals, and other Vietnamese competitors struggled to advance in the professional events, including men’s and mixed doubles.
The performances underscored Vietnam’s growing presence in regional pickleball, with promising results in the amateur categories and valuable experience gained at the professional level.
