AFC honours Vietnamese goals in group stage of U23 Asian Cup
VOV.VN - The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has listed two goals scored by Vietnamese players among the best eight goals of the group stage of the 2024 U23 Asian Cup.
According to the list, Nguyen Van Tung’s strike in the match against Kuwait’s U23s was memorable.
“A goal worthy to break any deadlock, Nguyen Van Truong’s defence-splitting pass took three Kuwaiti defenders out of the equation and Nguyen Van Tung timed his run to perfection to finish nonchalantly with the outside of his foot,” the AFC wrote in its article.
Elsewhere, Khuat Van Khang scored the second goal in the fixture between Vietnam and Malaysia.
The AFC stressed that just when the game looked like it was heading to half-time goalless, Khang came up a special goal for Vietnam.
It shared that Khang’s sweet left foot strike saw his freekick go into the top corner past Malaysian goalkeeper Azim Al Amin.
The AFC also honoured other great goals scored by Ahmed Al Rawi of Qatar, Ruslan Khailoev of Tajikistan, Aiman Yahya of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah Al Yazidi of Qatar, Alibek Davronov of Uzbekistan, and Witan Sulaeman of Indonesia.
