33 players called up to Vietnamese U22 squad

VOV.VN - Head coach Park Hang-seo announced on October 28 that a total of 33 footballers have been selected for the Vietnamese national U22 men’s football team ahead of international tournaments which will take place next year.

The latest meeting marks the third gathering this year, with the squad consisting of four goalkeepers, nine defenders, 14 midfielders, and six strikers, the majority of whom remain with the team after being part of the second gathering which took place in August.

Some of the notable players to be named in the lineup include goalkeeper Tran Liem Dieu of Nam Dinh FC, defenders Dang Tuan Nghia of Da Nang FC, Nguyen Trong Hieu of Hai Phong FC, and Nguyen Thanh Binh of Binh Dinh FC, in addition to striker Vo Nguyen Hoang of Sai Gon FC.

Based on the schedule of the V.League 1 and the National Football First League, also known as the V.League 2, the 33 players will be divided into three groups.

The first 23-player group will take part in practice from November 2, whilst the second two-player group and the third eight-player group will begin training from November 3 and November 9, respectively.

U22 Vietnam are preparing for the qualifying rounds of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U23 Championship 2022 and the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in 2021.
