3,000 m2 national flag launched to support Vietnam in World Cup qualifiers

VOV.VN - The Vietnam Golden Star (VGS) Supporters Association debuted a giant flag which is 3,000m2 in size in Ho Chi Minh City on January 24 as a means of giving great encouragement to the Vietnamese men’s national football team in the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The flag will be waved at stand D of the My Dinh National Stadium to fuel the Vietnamese team’s fire in the upcoming match against China on February 1, or the first day of the Lunar New Year.

The association’s members spent over one month making the national flag which they will transport from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi by car, through 12 routes starting from January 27.

On February 1 the flag will appear at stand D of the My Dinh National Stadium where supporters will gather to cheer for the team led by head coach Park Hang-seo in World Cup qualifiers.

The VGS Supporters Association will continue to use the giant flag to cheer the senior and U22 teams in other international tournaments this year, with the flag set to be used at the 31st Southeast Asian (SEA) Games hosted by Vietnam.
