25 players called up to Vietnam squad ahead of Thailand and UAE ties

VOV.VN -Vietnam’s head coach Park Hang-seo has unveiled the 25 players who will make up the Vietnamese national team squad for their upcoming fixtures against the UAE and Thailand in the Asian zone’s second qualification round for the World Cup 2022.

Following the completion of a training camp held at the Vietnam youth football training centre, in addition to two friendly matches between the senior national team and Vietnam’s U22 squad, a full list of 25 players has been announced for the two upcoming fixtures.

As a result, Park Han-seo has decided to eliminate five players from the list, including Ngo Hoang Thinh, Pham Xuan Manh, Ngan Van Dai, Nguyen Viet Phong, and Tran Van Kien.

Furthermore, Park Hang-seo has also opted to call up three outstanding players from the U22 team to join the national team. The trio include Nguyen Tien Linh, Nguyen Trong Hung, and Nguyen Hoang Duc.

Of the 25-player list, two of the players will also be cut from the squad ahead of the tie against the UAE, according to the coach.

Here is the full list of the 25 Vietnamese players to make the squad:

Goalkeepers: Dang Van Lam (Muangthong United FC), Nguyen Tuan Manh (Sanna Khanh Hoa BVN FC), and Pham Van Cuong (Quang Nam FC)

Defenders: Nguyen Thanh Chung (Hanoi FC), Do Duy Manh (Hanoi FC), Nguyen Huu Tuan (Ho Chi Minh City FC), Doan Van Hau (SC Heerenveen), Que Ngoc Hai (Viettel FC), Bui Tien Dung (Viettel FC), and Le Van Dai (Thanh Hoa FC)

Midfielders: Vu Van Thanh (HAGL FC), Nguyen Phong Hong Duy (HAGL FC), Nguyen Tuan Anh (HAGL FC), Pham Duc Huy (Hanoi FC), Nguyen Quang Hai (Hanoi FC), Do Hung Dung (Hanoi FC), Nguyen Huy Hung (Quang Nam FC), Nguyen Trong Hoang (Viettel FC), and Nguyen Hoang Duc (Viettel FC)
