2,200 athletes head for Asian Beach Games in Danang
VOV.VN - At a press conference on August 31, the organizers announced 42 countries have registered to participate in the – Asian Beach Games (September 24-October 3) – in Danang.

All told, the total number of competitors will exceed 2,200, noted the organizing board.
In addition, they reported the completed rules for the 22 sporting events have been finalized and are being distributed along with a tentative schedule of for the opening, flag hoisting, competitions and closing events.
Vietnam security forces are in the process of beefing up security for the main venues for the event, which are The East Sea Park, My Khe Beach, Phuong Trang Urban Beach and the Son Thuy Seaside Resort.
Initiated by the Olympic Council of Asia, the first Asian Beach Games took place in 2008 in Indonesia's Bali City and have been held biennially since then.
