World’s largest live sports piracy network dismantled in Vietnam

VOV.VN - The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE), the world’s leading anti-piracy coalition, has announced the shutdown of a notorious live sports piracy ring based in Vietnam.

According to broadbandtvnews.com, The operation revolved around the illegal streaming website markkystreams.com, headquartered in Vietnam, and included 137 directly linked domains such as bestsolaris.com, streameast.to; crackstreams.dev; and weakspell.to.

These websites amassed a staggering 812 million visits over the past 12 months, making it the largest live sports piracy network ever dismantled by ACE.

Through an extensive global investigation, ACE identified and engaged the operators of these sites in Hanoi, leading to the immediate transfer of 138 domains to ACE.

Larissa Knapp, Executive Vice President and Chief Content Protection Officer for the Motion Picture Association (MPA) revealed that the shutdown of the globally notorious live sports piracy ring is a huge victory in their campaign against the piracy of live sports programs and follows other recent successful actions by ACE and law enforcement in Vietnam.

The sites, mainly targeting audiences in the US and Canada, streamed daily sports events from major US leagues and global competitions across all categories.

Broadbandtvnews.com shared that the illicit operation affected all ACE members, including sports broadcasters like beIN Sports, Canal+ and DAZN.
